Downtown Fireplace Ribbon Cutting
Downtown Grandville Has New 4 Sided Gas Fireplace.
Downtown Grandville has a new gathering spot – a 4-sided gas fireplace situated in the Franklin Street Corridor just north of the library. Due to the generous donations of The Downtown Development Authority, Mayor Mass and Family, Members of the Grandville Jenison Chamber, and The Rotary Club of Grandville-Jenison, the 7x7 brick structure is nearing completion. In addition to providing ambiance and warmth for the dozen+ annual downtown events, the fireplace will add to our small town feel and offer a natural place for friends and families to enjoy a coffee, read a book, or just sit and chat. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for Thursday, October 6 at 12:15 pm. The dedication is open to the public, so please plan to join us as we celebrate this downtown addition and thank the contributors who have gifted it to us.
Grandville Jenison Chamber Donates to New Downtown Gathering Place
The Grandville Jenison Chamber of Commerce has a membership that consists of community-spirited citizens pooling our resources for the benefit of our community! As an invested member in the Chamber, we strive to keep you updated when opportunities arise for us to partner in providing those benefits.
Since the completion of the Downtown Grandville Streetscape, it has become a gathering area for a wide variety of events throughout the year. One additional improvement that has been on the wish list is an outdoor fireplace to utilize during fall and winter events.
The Chamber Board of Directors recently voted to donate $5000 out of the Chamber’s investment account to support the project. “This is a great opportunity for us to fulfill our missions while increasing visibility and awareness of the chamber and to step up our branding efforts,” explained Brian Maring, Chamber President. There will be a placard that will read “Donated by Members of the Grandville Jenison Chamber” on the fireplace when completed. “In addition, we have reached out to Georgetown Township/Jenison and are looking for opportunities to invest and give back to a project that will positively affect the community there as well. ” Continued Maring.
The Chamber has a healthy investment account and, in alignment with US chamber best practices and Grandville Jenison chamber polices, maintains a minimum balance of between 30 and 50% of the yearly operating budget.
The fireplace construction has already began and will be dedicated with a ceremony on Thursday, October 6 at 12:15 pm.
